Sweet≈Heat
plays a blend of high energy world-beat music that includes
influences of Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, and World music as well as
"Latinized" Jazz standards in a highly entertaining and danceable
presentation. Its music appeals to new audiences because of the
band’s infectious enthusiasm. They can play cool or hot
depending on the venue but always with a toe tapping groove..
Their
repertoire includes compositions by Tito Puente, Cal Tjader, Mongo Santamaria,
Chano Pozo, Israel Lopez "Cachao", Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Herbie Mann, Horace
Silver, Eddie Palmieri, A.C. Jobim, Mario Bauza, Art Webb, and more

packs the houses at some of the
best known clubs in Los Angeles and Southern California including
regular appearances at Hip Kitty,
Mama Juana's,
Cafe 322,
as well as Spazio amongst
others around southern California.
Sweet≈Heat
performs in groups of between 4-9 players depending on the
situation. The group consists of several interchangeable players
and guest artists. All the players are professionals in high demand.
This project is the brain-child of Liam Leahy.
